Michael J. Clark is a 1985 Graduate of UNLV in the field of Communication Studies. After working for six years at two different local television stations, he received his teaching certification in the field of secondary English. He taught junior high sixth and seventh graders for nine years at Burkholder Middle School in Henderson, Nevada. In 2001, when Coronado High School opened its doors, Michael was part of the staff. He was hired to run the broadcast program and also to teach English 1. He has coached baseball, volleyball and is co-founder of the Coronado Crazies, a club for sports enthusiasts. Michael and his wife are the parents of five children, including two Coronado graduates, and a granddaughter was added in May of 2007. One of his children currently attends the school. The Clark family has lived in Southern Nevada for the past twenty-six years, eighteen of those in Henderson. He is very active in his church and in the community. He serves locally on the executive board of the Boys Scouts of America, and is an Eagle Scout himself. He enjoys playing softball and golf. He is an avid music collector and is a trivia nut. He is also a big fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and David Letterman. Mostly he enjoys being a husband, father, grandfather, and teacher of the greatest kids in the world. Stop by his classroom sometime and see his large collection of Clark Bars.
