Study Skills

Study Skills is a required one– semester course which will introduce ninth– graders to basic skills for a successful educational experience at Coronado High School. Students receive assistance in the transitioning from middle to high school with emphasis on the areas of organizational skills, Latin and Greek roots, spelling skills, research skills, time management skills, homework skills, formulaic writing skills, writing for the Nevada State Proficiency Exam skills, and research of college and career choice skills.

English III R/W

This one-year course builds upon the strategies emphasized in English II RW.  The skills of critical thinking, reading, listening, writing, and speaking will be developed.  It continues to develop students’ ability to apply appropriate strategies for the reading and writing processes.  It also emphasizes skills essential for the Nevada State Proficiency Exams in reading and writing. This course will fulfill one of the four English credits required for graduation.
