- Band
- The backbone of the Coronado’s Band program is the Concert Band program, which consists of the Symphonic Band and concert Band. Each group meets daily as a class. All members also participate in the Marching Band and are eligible to audition for the two jazz bands. At the conclusion of the Marching Band season, students may choose to enroll in the advanced Study/Performing Arts Chamber Music class, and/or Pep Band, which perform at many home basketball games. The prerequisite for any band course is at least one year of band and/or one full year of private lesson instruction. Acceptance into the band program is by the approval of the director(s).

- Color Guard
- The purpose of the Color Guard is to add color, excitement, and visual enhancement to the Marching Band show. The Color Guard is open to all Coronado High School students. The main emphasis in this class will be on dance with equipment, including, funk, jazz, and classical. As an integral part of the Cougar Pride Marching Band during the fall months, members of the Color Guard will be enrolled in a separate class, “Rhythmic Precision”, which takes place during the school day, in addition to “Marching Band”, which takes place until the end of the marching season.
- After marching season is complete, the Color Guard changes its competitive venue from enhancing the Marching Band show to performing in its own competitive Cougar Winter Guard. This group will participate in local performances in the winter and spring, and will ultimately travel to competitions in California. Students are required to attend band camp. This class may be taken in place of P.E. 1. This course may be repeated.
